Reconcile sales channels
Organize gross sales, returns, discounts, platform fees, payment-processing activity, and deposits so the books and tax records can be compared.
E-COMMERCE & ONLINE SELLERS
Online sales can create a complicated record trail across storefronts, marketplaces, payment processors, bank deposits, inventory, and state registrations. Tavella CPA Group helps owners reconcile that information for tax filings and separately scope bookkeeping, sales-tax, estimated-tax, or notice support.
IS THIS THE RIGHT STARTING POINT?
A payment-processor total, marketplace payout, and bank deposit may each show a different view of the same activity. A useful tax process reconciles gross sales, refunds, fees, sales tax, inventory or product costs, and owner transfers without assuming that one platform report tells the whole story.

Read guideCOMMON QUESTIONS
Not necessarily. Marketplace rules may address tax on certain marketplace transactions, but direct sales, registrations, returns, exemption records, account notices, and other state-specific requirements may still need review. The answer depends on the channels, states, products, and existing accounts involved.
A registration review can be scoped based on the states where the business has sales and other connections, the products or services sold, sales channels, marketplace activity, inventory, employees or contractors, events, and existing registrations. No conclusion should be based on sales volume alone without reviewing the applicable facts and current state rules.
Sales-tax registrations, recurring filings, notices, and audit assistance are available when separately accepted in writing. The scope identifies the states, accounts, periods, filing frequency, source records, and whether agency contact or representation is included.
Form 1099-K generally reports gross payment activity rather than the business’s net taxable income. It should be reconciled with the business’s complete records, including sales, refunds, fees, and any personal or duplicate activity, rather than ignored or treated as a complete profit calculation.
Bookkeeping and financial-record review can be scoped separately. The first step is identifying the sales channels, processors, bank accounts, periods, transaction volume, and available reports so the work and timing can be evaluated.
